When you buy a birth kit, One H.E.A.R.T. sends your honoree a beautiful card inside a handmade Tibetan cloth envelope. Each card describes the birth kit, its contents, information on One H.E.A.R.T. and the striking statistics around childbirth in Tibet.
When you sponsor a medical bag for a midwife graduate, you are assuring they have the necessary equipment to provide for a safe delivery. Supplies include; blood pressure cuffs, stethoscope, suturing kit, ring forceps, kelly clamps, scale to weigh newborn, urine dip sticks, newborn resuscitation bag and mask, scissors, gloves, and headlamp.
One H.E.A.R.T.'s PAVOT program is a grassroots community outreach program. Our staff trains pregnant women, their immediate families, and village members, in simple skills necessary for a healthy pregnancy and safe birth. Your donation covers the cost of travel, educational and medical supplies, and other costs associated with training in the village.
$1,000 sponsors one Village, Township, or County Doctor to attend One H.E.A.R.T.'s midwife training program in Lhasa. This includes one month of classroom training followed by two months of clinical rotations in Lhasa hospitals. Your $1,000 goes toward room and board, meals, travel, classroom supplies, medical supplies, Hepatitis B Vaccine, a bicycle and any other costs associated with training one midwife.
